We now have an in house shock dyno set up to work with the Bilstein shocks that are part of the SM suspension kit.
Are your shocks old? Have you had a few off track exursions? Maybe an accident or two? Checking your shocks on the shock dyno, will quickly indentify good shocks vs bad shocks vs dead shocks. Even if your shocks are brand new, you don't know what you are getting until you test them. Also remember now that SCCA has a spec that the shocks must be within in order to be legal.
We will test all 4 shocks, and provide you with a dyno sheet for each one showing how your shock performs.
We typically use this testing to find the best shocks and put them on the appropriate side of the car based on our home track.
Below is an example of a report showing 3 front shocks. All 3 came as part of the spec suspension kit and were dynoed prior to being put on the car. What you will notice is that one of the shocks is significantly softer on the rebound setting. Not only does this have a negative impact on performance, it would test out of compliance and be found illegal based on the SCCA spec for shocks.
There are several different styles of reports that can be printed showing the performace of each shock.
